This was part of a series of horizontal posters I did for Almagestum, an ecuadorian concert producer. Jetzy Reyes, was the person behind this concerts, and I really appreciate the freedom she gave me for creating these. “Enclave de Sirenas” (Mermaids’ ensemble) was a women jazz band with lot of emphasis on the voice performance. Mermaids were known by their seductive voices who enchanted sailors in the old Greek myths, so I came up with this waves of magic voices and a suggestive tale to attract the audience. People liked it.
This is one of my favorites typographic posters I’ve done. I was trying to prove a point to my students in Ecuador about the use of Avant Garde -which used to be the most popular over used font by that time-. This poster was created for a Jazz Concert focus on percussion. That’s way the name of the concert: Repercussion!
This was part of the national campaign of AFS Ecuador, an old organization of students global exchange that en-up being one of my most loyal clients in Quito. Juan Domínguez, un abrazo desde Saint Louis! This Photo-shop oriented solution is very rare to find in my portfolio. It is a Juliana’s shoe. I shoot the shoe with a glass of whiskey (empty), and the placed the Earth map. I added a couple of transparency effects, erased a little bit the map, and then the glass texture came up providing that sense of transparency and pristine quality.
Another poster for the Cinema Series “Europe: the interior crisis”
This graphic was originally conceived for a French Cinema Festival in Havana. The contest, organized by the Alliance Francaise in Havana, loved it because of the simple composition, the subtle “F” insinuation, the “Can-can” dance connection… BUT -in the words of the French coordinator- “this is a great poster for Paris, but this is Havana mon-cheri“. So… it end-up being recycled in Ecuador for an European-pseudo-erotic Cinema Festival. C’est la vie…
